Job Summary
Due to a full order book, we are seeking experienced Groundworkers and Plant Machine Operators to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for operating various plant machinery, assisting with groundworks, and ensuring the smooth progression of construction projects. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects requiring mechanical expertise and practical skills in a dynamic environment. Working for a long established family run business. Full driving license required.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy plant machinery such as excavators, loaders, and diggers in accordance with safety protocols. 360 degree operator up to 10 Ton dumpers
- Assist with ground preparation, excavation, and site clearance activities.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery and report any faults or issues promptly.
- Support the installation of utilities, foundations, and other structural elements on-site.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to maintain a secure work environment.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using appropriate equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Groundworker or Plant Machine Operator within the construction sector.
- Valid commercial driving licence is preferred for transporting equipment or materials.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting on plant machinery.
- Experience operating excavators or similar heavy machinery is essential.
- Strong understanding of health and safety standards relevant to construction sites.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy loads when necessary.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to safety, reliability, and professionalism to succeed in this role. Prior experience with mechanical systems and plant operation will be highly advantageous for applicants seeking to advance their careers within our organisation.
Pay: £17.00-£18.00 per hour
