Trinity High School & Sixth Form Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Careers, Information & Guidance Advisor to join our committed team. This is a key role supporting students from Years 9 to 13 as they explore future pathways, develop employability skills, and make informed decisions about their next steps.
You will deliver impartial careers information, advice and guidance through one‑to‑one support, group sessions, workshops, and contributions to the tutorial programme. Working closely with curriculum areas, external agencies, colleges and employers, you will help shape a careers provision that raises aspirations and supports all students to achieve positive outcomes.
This role also includes coordinating college applications, supporting NEET students with continued progression routes, and contributing to the development of high‑quality learning materials and careers events.
Key responsibilities
- Provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance to students
- To develop and deliver presentations and group learning through seminars, workshops and contribution to the tutorial programme in student career development from years 9 to 13
- To work with staff in local colleges and external agencies to organise and implement events which support the career development, progression and employability skills of students at the school
- To be a key contact for students college application forms and ensure all are completed (including ensuring a continued career path for our NEED students)
- To share in the corporate responsibility for the education and well-being of all students at the school
- To develop links with middle schools potentially providing a negotiated service for CIAG.
Person specificationWe are looking for someone who has:
- A Level 6 Qualification in Career Guidance and Development (or equivalent)
- Experience working with young people in an education setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to motivate and build positive relationships with students
- A flexible, ethical and student‑centred approach
- Confidence working independently and managing a caseload
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
Working hours
Monday–Thursday: 08:00–16:00
Friday: 08:00–15:30
(30‑minute unpaid lunch break)
