Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Work Professional to develop, coordinate and deliver youth work programmes that support the personal, social and educational development of young people.
The successful candidate will assess the needs of young people, deliver structured interventions, promote community participation, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to improve outcomes for individuals and groups.
Duties
- Plan, organise and deliver youth work programmes, projects and activities.
- Assess the developmental, educational and social needs of young people and develop appropriate support plans.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and informal educational support to young people.
- Facilitate group work sessions, workshops and community-based activities.
- Encourage participation, leadership and decision-making among young people.
- Promote social inclusion, wellbeing and positive life choices.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships with schools, local authorities, community organisations and other stakeholders.
- Support young people experiencing social, behavioural, emotional or educational challenges.
- Organise outreach activities to engage young people who may be vulnerable or hard to reach.
- Monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness and prepare reports for management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes and safeguarding documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, equality and diversity requirements.
- Contribute to the development of community initiatives and youth engagement strategies.
- Supervise volunteers and support staff involved in youth programmes where required.
Qualifications
- Experience or interest in teaching, youth work, or mentoring roles
- Proven ability to work effectively with children and young people from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) is desirable
- Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young people
- Patience, empathy, and excellent organisational skills
- Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, education, or social care are advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary

Pay: £39,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
