We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dessert Maker to join our culinary team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble a wide range of desserts, including cakes, pastries, mousses, and other sweet treats
- Follow established recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency and quality
- Assist in the development of new dessert recipes in collaboration with the head chef or culinary team
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dessert station in accordance with food safety regulations
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Ensure all desserts are prepared in a timely manner to meet service schedules
- Adhere strictly to food safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate dessert preparation with other meal components
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, food preparation, or cooking within a professional kitchen environment is preferred
- Proven culinary experience specialising in baking or pastry arts is highly desirable
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Experience working under pressure during busy service hours is advantageous
- Knowledge of various baking techniques and dessert presentation styles is beneficial
