We are currently looking for an experienced Cook to join our catering team.
The Role
Tired of late nights and split shifts?
We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Cook to join our busy kitchen at Bluebell Dairy. This is a full-time, permanent role in a friendly, family-run environment where quality food and teamwork really matter.
This is a hands-on position supporting the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will work in a fast-paced environment delivering high standards of food quality, hygiene, and service.
Hours average 37.5 per week, with seasonal variation (more hours during peak periods and fewer during quieter times).
Weekend, bank holiday, and school holiday working is essential.
Shifts are mainly daytime, with occasional evening work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh food to a high standard
- Support the daily running of the kitchen
- Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards
- Comply with all Health & Safety regulations
- Complete kitchen records in line with food safety legislation
- Monitor and order stock; assist with stock-takes
- Support Environmental Health inspections
- Assist in training Catering Assistants
- Contribute to menu development and new ideas
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar cooking role (essential)
- Level 2 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (essential)
- Level 3 Basic Food Hygiene Certificate/ or willing to obtain
- Strong understanding of allergens and dietary requirements
- Knowledge of hygiene and health & safety standards
- C&G 706/1, 706/2 or NVQ equivalent (desirable)
- Bakery skills advantageous
