We are working with an established and expanding mechanical contractor here in London who are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
Operating across large-scale developments throughout London, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical building services installations. Due to continued growth and a strong secured pipeline, they are now looking to appoint a commercially aware and proactive Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the commercial management of their projects.
This position will involve taking commercial ownership of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with Project Managers, engineers, consultants, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining strong commercial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial aspects of mechanical packages on residential developments
- Preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
- Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts
- Managing variations, change control, and contract administration
- Monitoring project costs and reporting on financial performance
- Supporting project teams with commercial advice and risk management
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams on commercial matters
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost control techniques, budgeting processes, and contractual procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience on residential or mixed-use developments
- Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management ability
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Construction
