Set in the outskirts of Norwich in the village of Drayton, Badgers Wood is a residential care home which can look after up to 37 residents. Set in private grounds with seating areas within our gardens. We support our residents to be a part of the community whether it is trips to our local pubs for lunch, visiting the high school or bringing the community in to us, which would include our weekly Little Badgers visit, monthly church services and one of our local care homes bringing their residents for archery competitions. We are very much aware of being part of the community encourages the well being of our residents.

About the role-
As a senior support worker you will develop positive working relationships with the people you support. Your will lead and support staff to uphold the highest standards of care, helping people to stay safe and healthy, encourage their independence and dignity, and ensure they are living the best quality of life possible.
Key responsibilities will include-
Review and update care plans to ensure they are person-centred and reflect the support provided.
Undertake quality and safety checks.
Identify areas for improvement and work with the management team to address these.
Provide leadership and support to support workers, ensuring safe and person-centred care.
Organise shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed.
Support processes around medication.
Support induction and training of new and junior staff.
Support our people to engage in social activities as well as support interests and hobbies at home and in the community.
Support and develop contact with family and friendships.
Use effective and sensitive communication to encourage independence and personal choice.
Provide support with personal care and other daily living tasks.
Ensure good completion of a range of records related to the support you provide.
Work flexibly to ensure our people get the support they need when they need it.

What we are looking for-
Experience of supporting people within a care setting.
NVQ level 3 in health and social care, or a commitment to gain this qualification.
The ability to lead and motivate staff.
A person-centred approach.
A compassionate and proactive mindset.
A collaborative and positive attitude with the people in our service and with your colleagues.
