** Operations Team - Electrical Supervisor**
47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00-17:00 with a 30-minute unpaid break
07:00 start is from B37 7HE
Job Summary
We are seeking a fully qualified Electrical Supervisor to join our team. Based in Birmingham/Solihull and willing to travel across the UK throughout the week. The ideal candidate will oversee all electrical installation, inspection, and maintenance activities related to Smart Parking’s ANPR and car park management systems. This role ensures all electrical works are completed safely, compliantly, and to the highest quality standards. This role is responsible for supervising a team of electricians, ensuring efficient scheduling, technical accuracy, and adherence to NICEIC standards.
Team Supervision and Coordination
- Lead and coordinate a team of electricians to ensure safe and efficient completion of electrical installations.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with project schedules.
- Conduct site briefings and toolbox talks to reinforce safety and quality standards.
- Coach and mentor team members to support professional growth and consistent delivery.
Electrical Installation and Maintenance
- Oversee and carry out installation of electrical systems supporting ANPR, lighting, and car park infrastructure.
- Perform testing and inspection of electrical systems to BS 7671 standards.
- Ensure all NICEIC certification and reports are completed accurately and submitted promptly.
- Maintain calibration and service records for electrical testing equipment.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture across all works in line with CDM and Electricity at Work Regulations.
- Ensure all team members understand site-specific RAMS and always work safely.
- Undertake regular site safety inspections and ensure PPE and tools are used appropriately.
- Report incidents, near-misses, and non-compliances in a timely and professional manner.
Project Coordination
- Work with the Operations Manager to align electrical tasks with wider project timelines.
- Provide technical input on electrical designs, specifications, and installation methods.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure efficient site operations.
- Assist in commissioning and handover of electrical installations.
Quality and Improvement
- Ensure all electrical works meet internal and client quality expectations.
- Identify and implement improvements in safety, efficiency, or quality.
- Contribute to updates of electrical procedures, documentation, and testing standards.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all work, materials, and test results.
- Submit completed certification and reports on time.
- Provide progress updates and input into operations reports.
Qualifications & experience
- Demonstrable supervisory/management experience
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification (preferred)
- Experience supervising small electrical teams or leading site-based work
- NICEIC experience or understanding of Approved Contractor standards
- ECS or CSCS card (essential)
- Full UK driving license (essential)
- SSSTS or equivalent site safety qualification (desirable)
