Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising maintenance activities across the facility.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
- Manage maintenance schedules, prioritising urgent repairs and routine inspections to minimise downtime.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
- Utilise project management skills to oversee ongoing projects, including upgrades and installations of machinery or infrastructure.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings to facilitate troubleshooting and repairs.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment history for compliance and analysis purposes.
- Support the development of preventative maintenance programmes aimed at reducing equipment failures.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules.
- Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Experience
- Proven management or supervisory experience within a maintenance environment is essential.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully overseeing complex tasks from inception to completion.
- Extensive mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration into industrial systems.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with excellent organisational skills.
- Experience supervising teams of technicians or contractors in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in English language communication is required for effective team coordination and reporting purposes.
