Role Outline
As a Multi-skilled Tradesperson you will join a busy, well-established property maintenance and improvement business. You will deliver planned and reactive maintenance, working across carpentry, painting, plumbing, tiling, plastering and related tasks. You will update job progress through our management system (Tradify) and capture photographic/video evidence as required.
This is a varied, hands-on position where no two days are the same. With a steady pipeline of work across a range of residential properties, carrying out maintenance, repairs and small refurbishment projects to a high standard.
You'll be trusted to work independently, represent our company professionally and provide excellent customer service at every property you visit.
Key responsibilities:
- General property maintenance and repairs
- Basic plumbing repairs and installations
- Carpentry and joinery repairs
- Painting, decorating and making good
- Fencing repairs and general external maintenance
- Garden maintenance and clearance where required
- Minor tiling, silicone replacement and patch repairs
- Changing locks, handles and other ironmongery
Operational responsibilities:
- Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicles in a clean and organised condition
- Complete all work maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring excellent customer service
- Complete all work safely and in line with Health & Safety regulations
- Report job progress and issues promptly
- Communicate job completion via our update/text system
- Capture photographic or video evidence as directed
- Provide scheduling updates and work efficiently with the wider team
Person specification:
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in general maintenance or multi-trade work.
- Relevant trade qualifications or demonstrable competence in core trades.
- Good all-round practical skills across multiple trades (carpentry, painting, plumbing, tiling, plastering) or able to demonstrate transferable skills.
- Ability to organise own workload, manage time and be punctual.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship
- Reliable, trustworthy and self-motivated
- Full driving licence & ideally use of own vehicle.
- Own selection of everyday tools.
- Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile apps.
- Reliable, customer-focused, able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Willingness to undergo DBS check and provide references.
Desirable
- Additional depth in a specialty (e.g., bathroom/kitchen installation, joinery, gas or electrical qualifications).
- Experience creating or posting short content (photos, short videos, captions) about completed work.
- Able to use Tradify (or learn quickly) to: accept jobs, upload photos/videos, log time and materials, and mark jobs complete.
Interview criteria and checks
- Practical assessment: Short on-site or workshop task to demonstrate trade skills and problem solving.
- Portfolio: Bring examples or photos of previous work; ability to show before/after images is helpful.
- References and checks: Provide two work references; DBS check may be required for work with vulnerable tenants and schools.
- Right to work and licence check: Verify driving licence and right to work documentation.
Pay schedule, hours and location
- Pay: £200–£250 per day (self-employed, invoices paid fortnightly).
- Hours: 08:00–16:00 Monday to Friday; no weekend work.
- Location: On the road across South East London, Greater London and Kent; must reliably commute or relocate before starting.
