Sous Chef – The Bottle & Glass, Harby
The Bottle & Glass is looking for a talented and reliable Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at our busy, award-winning country pub in Harby.
We are passionate about fresh food, quality ingredients, consistency, and delivering a fantastic dining experience in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef who is ready to take the next step, support the Head Chef, and play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
What we’re looking for:
A confident and experienced chef with a strong background in fresh food kitchens. You will need to be calm under pressure, well organised, reliable, and able to support and motivate the wider kitchen team during busy services.
- Supporting the team with the smooth running of the kitchen
- Helping lead, train, and support junior chefs and kitchen team members
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
- Overseeing prep, service, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
- Ensuring food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained
- Assisting with ordering, stock control, and reducing waste
Qualifications & Experience Required
The successful candidate should have previous experience in a fresh food kitchen, ideally as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or experienced Chef de Partie ready to progress. A good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety, allergens, and kitchen standards is essential. A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate.

Competitive salary of £32,000 – £36,000 per year, depending on experience
