Day in the life of a Qualified Surveyor – Gas and Heating
As a technical specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe and compliant operation of gas and heating systems across our property portfolio.
Reporting to the Building Compliance Manager – Gas and Heating, you will:

Deliver operational gas and heating compliance across a diverse portfolio

Plan, carry out and quality assure statutory inspections and surveys

Oversee and monitor remedial works for gas, heating systems and associated plant

Provide expert technical advice and guidance to colleagues and contractors

Maintain accurate, audit-ready compliance records
-
Identify and escalate any risks relating to safety or compliance
You’ll be instrumental in ensuring all systems are maintained and operated safely, efficiently and in full compliance with statutory requirements.

You’ll also bring:

Substantial hands-on experience in inspecting and overseeing gas and heating systems across a range of property types, including high-risk residential buildings

Strong knowledge of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, Building Regulations, and industry best practice
-
Familiarity with low-carbon heating systems, communal heating and heat networks (desirable)

Recognised technical qualifications in gas engineering, mechanical engineering, building services or surveying (e.g. HNC/HND, BEng/BSc, Gas Safe registration)

Experience working in regulated or high-compliance environments

Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections

Evidence of continuous professional development in gas and heating compliance
