St John Houghton are seeking a confident, resilient and proactive Behaviour Support Worker to help promote positive behaviour and support students in achieving their full potential.
You will:

Have experience working with young people, ideally within a school or educational setting.

Be able to build positive and professional relationships with students, staff and parents.

Remain calm under pressure and confidently manage challenging behaviour.

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Be organised and able to maintain accurate records and reports.

Use initiative, work independently and contribute effectively as part of a wider pastoral team.

Have an understanding of the factors that influence pupil behaviour and strategies to promote positive behaviour.

Be competent using IT systems and administrative processes.

Be energetic, enthusiastic and committed to supporting young people to succeed.

Share the values, ethos and commitment to safeguarding expected within a Catholic school environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the school's on-call behaviour system and responding to behavioural incidents.

Working with students to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
-
Liaising with staff, parents and pastoral leaders regarding behaviour concerns.

Administering and recording sanctions, detentions and behaviour interventions.
-
Supporting investigations, exclusions processes, anti-bullying procedures and safeguarding requirements.

Maintaining accurate behaviour records and producing reports as required.
