Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Workers to provide high-quality in-home support to individuals with diverse care needs. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being within their own homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or nursing home environments, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives. This position offers an opportunity to work flexibly across various hours, supporting clients with conditions such as dementia, Alzheimer's, and other age-related or chronic health issues.
Duties
- Provide personalised care and support to clients in their own homes, including assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support with medication administration and health monitoring as required
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Manage behaviour effectively and compassionately, especially in clients with dementia or Alzheimer's
- Support with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organising the living space
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities using a company vehicle or their own transport where necessary
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to supervisors
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary
Requirements
- Experience in assisted living, patient care, nursing home environments, or similar settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and behaviour management techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or moving equipment
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients safely and reliably
- First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided
- Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude towards clients of all ages, including elderly individuals and children
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of care
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends or bank holidays as needed
