Casual Market Research Surveyor Opportunity (Oxford - Cambridge)
About the opportunity
Tracsis Operations, part of the Tracsis Group, specialise in quantitative research, predominantly in the transport industry. We work closely with our clients to develop research programmes that give insight into their customers’ motives, behaviours, attitudes and opinions. That’s where you come in!
Due to the large number of surveys that we conduct all over the UK, we are recruiting a pool of Casual Market Research Surveyors to support us across a range of transport projects all around the country. Survey times can range from 8 - 10-hour shifts (sometimes 12 hours or split shifts), depending on survey requirements and involves working in all weather conditions.
We are especially keen to hear from applicants in the South-Central England area (particularly Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Bedford, Cambridge and surrounding areas). But also interested to hear from you if you are based in other areas across the UK too.
We are currently recruiting casual field staff in the South-Central England area for an upcoming survey project taking place across September and October 2026. We are looking to build a pool of reliable local staff who may be offered work on this project. This is also an excellent opportunity to register your interest in future casual work opportunities beyond this with our team across the UK.
If you were to join us, these are some of the things you could be involved in:
· Conducting bus user surveys in specific locations
· Administering ticketless travel surveys on trains across the country
· Distributing questionnaire leaflets at train stations, bus stations and pedestrian
· Boarding and alighting counts at train stations and bus stations
· Parking demand surveys on street and in car parks
· Traffic, transport and pedestrian observation surveys
· Face to face interview surveys
·Origin & destination user surveys
Keen to get involved? You’ll need the following:
· People skills, as you will be interacting with the public
· Basic IT skills, using apps and navigating websites
· Ability to follow instructions and read basic maps
· Problem-solving skills, using your own initiative where required
· Ability to travel to other locations, with paid expenses (where applicable)
Before you can start any work, you will be required to complete a right to work check and produce evidence of your right to work in the UK.
