Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic/Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment and machinery to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to minimise downtime.
- Diagnose faults accurately using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised tools.
- Assemble new equipment or parts following technical drawings and specifications.
- Perform welding tasks as required to repair or modify equipment components.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts utilised.
- Assist with the installation of new machinery and ensure it complies with safety standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency repairs to minimise operational disruptions.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations, prioritising safe working practices.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and clients regarding repairs or maintenance issues.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment repair, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical principles.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various types of machinery and industrial equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues accurately.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and reporting.
- Customer service orientation with clear communication skills.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in mechanical engineering or related fields are desirable but not essential.
