Q Care is looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our community based county-wide Sensory Impairment Support Team in Gloucestershire.
You’ll work with our team to provide housing -related support, acting as an advocate and supporting people to manage and maintain their accommodation.

Responsibilities:
› To support people to maintain and improve their independence.
› To carry out risk assessments, identify tasks and agree areas of support needed.
› Support with access to information and services - e.g. Benefits, budgeting, debt management, training, health, legal services.
› To act as an advocate.
› To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies and signpost as required.
› Undertake reviews and outcomes monitoring with service users, using their views to suggest ways in which the service may be improved.
Essential Requirements:
› Experience of working with people with a sensory impairment.
› Either knowledge of British Sign Language as a native user, or to Level 2.
Or a commitment to attend BSL courses to develop skills
› Driver’s Licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes, as this role requires regular travel to various locations across Gloucestershire.
› The ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and disciplines.
› Listening skills and the ability to understand and support with sensitivity.
› The ability to work independently and manage your own case load, as well as work as part of a team.
