About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified (or part qualified) finance professional to take ownership of the finance function, provide strategic financial support, and contribute to the continued success of the business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management, and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that numbers being reported are accurate, complete and compliant
- Maintaining internal controls, safeguarding against fraud or errors.
- Timely production of management information to aid decision making and ensure the business meets all legal and regulatory obligations
- Preparing monthly management accounts on an accrual/prepayment basis for review by HoF/CFO
- Ensure balance sheet is fully reconciled on a monthly basis, with supporting docs
- Line management of AR/AP roles; setting SMART objectives and measuring progress
- Support preparation of annual Budgets and Forecasts
- Support creation of cash flow forecast, ongoing updates and actualise to establish forecast accuracy
- Authorise AP invoices within agreed limits
- Set up bank payments and authorise within agreed limits
- Back up for preparing/processing payroll if HoF is not available
- Align chart of Accounts with reporting needs of the business
- Ensure VAT calculations are correct for both AP/AR and prepare return for review by HoF
- Write down Lots by sales made in month
- Use inventory reports to adjust stock holdings
- Calculate COS using inventory/sales reports
- Support in preparation of Monthly reporting pack/dashboard for review by SLT
- Support HoF in preparation for Y/end and liaise with Auditors/Accountants
- Ad hoc projects as directed by the HoF/CFO
About you:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations, P&L analysis and commercial insight
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft and QuickBooks or a similar accounting package
- Ideally you will be a super user for Dext or a similar workflow tool
