Job Title: Bike Share Operations Technician (Workshop + Mobile)
Summary: Join our team as a full-time Bike Share Operations Technician, responsible for the maintenance, repairs, and overall support of our dynamic bike share programme. With our Brighton bike share scheme expanding to nearly 800 bikes, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring their optimal performance. Working alongside our friendly and dedicated operations team, you'll find the work varied, interesting, and rewarding.
Location: Brighton Bike Share Operations Centre, Southwick, BN42 4EN.
Key Responsibilities:
● Undertake servicing and repairs at our well equipped operations centre.
● Carry out repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting in the field using our efficient e-van or e-bike.
● Occasionally assume the "Hot seat" role, overseeing and directing operations to maintain seamless functioning.
● Effectively utilise team communication and Bike share back-end IT systems for efficient coordination.
● Make informed decisions, prioritise tasks, and resolve faults promptly.
● Foster collaboration and seamless integration within the Operations team.
Person Specification:
● We are seeking a reliable, diligent, and team-oriented individual with excellent time management skills.
● Comfortable working in the field for the majority of the day when necessary, adapting to changing conditions.
● Possess a strong mechanical aptitude with experience in various mechanical tasks
(not limited to bikes).
● Proficiency in computer usage and a willingness to learn new applications/software, as IT plays a crucial role in the scheme's success.
● Flexible and capable of assuming additional responsibilities as needed to ensure operational efficiency.
Skills/Experience:
● Demonstrable mechanical experience, preferably including bike maintenance and repairs.
● Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and carrying heavy equipment.
● Possession of a full, clean driving licence would be advantageous for supporting field operations.
