We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and enjoys making a positive difference to the lives of others.
Working Hours
This role includes the following shifts:
- Tuesday: 8:00am–1:00pm or 1:00pm–6:00pm (Kitchen Deep Clean)
- Wednesday: 8:00am–3:00pm
- Saturday: 8:00am–3:00pm
- Sunday: 8:00am–1:00pm
Additional hours may be available to cover annual leave and sickness where required.
About the Role
As a Housekeeper, you will play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors and staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness throughout the home.
- Completing daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Carrying out a weekly deep clean of the kitchen.
- Cleaning resident bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
- Completing regular touch-point cleaning to support Infection Prevention and Control.
- Using cleaning products safely in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Completing housekeeping audits and reporting any concerns to management.
- Monitoring cleaning stock levels and completing stock checks.
- Reporting maintenance issues promptly.
- Working closely with the care and kitchen teams to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for residents.
- Maintaining residents' dignity, privacy and independence at all times.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous housekeeping or cleaning experience (care home or healthcare experience is desirable).
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Takes pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards.
- Has a good understanding of Infection Prevention and Control.
- Understands COSHH and Health & Safety procedures.
- Is organised and able to manage their workload effectively.
- Can work independently as well as part of a team.
- Is reliable, trustworthy and compassionate.
- Has a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
Essential Requirements
- Previous professional cleaning or housekeeping experience.
- Good understanding of Infection Prevention and Control.
- Knowledge of COSHH and safe use of cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to complete cleaning schedules and housekeeping audits.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a care home or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Experience carrying out environmental audits.
- Basic IT skills.
