About the Role
This is a hands-on development role for someone who wants to build a career in digital media and content production.
Working alongside an experienced production and creative team, you’ll help research, plan, create, publish and evaluate content across a range of digital channels and projects.
You’ll gain practical workplace experience alongside structured Level 3 Content Creator training, developing skills across content production, social media, digital storytelling and creative project delivery.
Main Responsibilities
You’ll be supported to:
- Interpret creative briefs, understand objectives and develop content ideas for defined audiences
- Research topics, audience interests, platform trends and competitor content
- Assist with content plans, production schedules, storyboards, shot lists and basic project planning
- Support video and audio production, including preparation, recording, basic camera operation and production assistance
- Create and edit short-form video, audio clips, graphics, photographs and other digital assets
- Write captions, headlines, descriptions, short articles, promotional copy and other platform-specific content
- Repurpose longer-form content into engaging material for platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
- Apply brand identity, tone of voice and editorial standards consistently
- Upload, schedule and manage content using appropriate publishing and content-management tools
- Organise and store video, audio, image and project files securely and methodically
- Communicate professionally with creative colleagues, contributors, clients and external partners
- Follow copyright, intellectual property, data protection, consent, accessibility and platform requirements
- Monitor content performance using relevant analytics, prepare simple reports and suggest improvements
- Maintain a portfolio of work and evidence to support completion of the apprenticeship
- Keep up to date with developments in production technology, social platforms, audience behaviour and the responsible use of AI

- A willingness to learn filming, editing, design, audio and publishing software
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Reliability and the ability to work to deadlines
- Openness to feedback and a desire to continually improve
- Awareness of current social platforms and wider digital culture
Qualifications & Experience
You’ll need a good level of English and a genuine interest in video editing and content creation, with a passion for developing your skills in media and post-production.
Some existing experience with video editing or content creation would be beneficial, but extensive professional experience is not required.
Formal qualifications such as GCSEs are helpful but are not essential. We’re particularly interested in your potential, enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to learn.
Personal projects such as videos, photography, social media accounts, or a showreel are all welcome and can be a great way to demonstrate your creativity.
