About the Role
Mercia Utility Services is looking for an experienced and professional Customer Services Administrator to join our small but growing team in Tamworth.
As a Customer Services Administrator, you will be an important first point of contact for our customers, dealing with enquiries by telephone and email and ensuring they receive a professional, efficient and helpful service.
Mercia Utility Services works on behalf of utility companies across the UK, supported by a nationwide field team that visits properties to resolve outstanding issues, including utility theft and debt.
Key Responsibilities
· Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound calls in a professional and efficient manner.
· Respond promptly and accurately to customer enquiries via telephone and email.
· Deal with customer complaints professionally, identifying appropriate solutions and alternatives.
· Maintain accurate customer and operational records.
· Liaise effectively with field workers, clients and subcontractors to coordinate information and resolve queries.
· Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
· Follow company procedures, guidelines and policies at all times.
· Escalate complex or sensitive issues where appropriate.
· Provide general administrative support to the wider team.
· Ensure all customer interactions are handled with a confident, professional and helpful telephone manner.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have:
· Previous experience in a customer service or administration role.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Confidence handling a high volume of telephone and email enquiries.
· Experience dealing with customer complaints and resolving issues effectively.
· Strong organisational and time-management skills.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· The ability to build positive relationships with customers, field staff, clients and subcontractors.
· Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
· The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a small team.
· A professional, positive and customer-focused approach.
