Slavery and Exploitation Caseworker
Location: Nottingham
Pay Rate: £24.64 per hour Umbrella
Contract: Temporary, initially 3 months with potential for rolling monthly extensions
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:45am–4:45pm
Working Arrangement: Hybrid, predominantly home-based with office attendance and occasional in-person visits as required
Seven Resourcing are looking for a dedicated and proactive Slavery and Exploitation Caseworker to support vulnerable individuals who may be victims or survivors of modern slavery, human trafficking and exploitation.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone with safeguarding knowledge and a strong commitment to advocacy. You will work as part of a specialist team, supporting the identification of exploitation, assessing risk and ensuring vulnerable people receive the appropriate support and protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Triage and assess incoming referrals relating to modern slavery, trafficking and exploitation.
- Identify and assess safeguarding risks and contribute to coordinated plans and interventions.
- Work closely with partner organisations and professionals to share intelligence and coordinate responses.
- Conduct low-level investigations and provide specialist advice and guidance to frontline services.
- Advocate for survivors and suspected victims, ensuring their needs remain central to all interventions.
- Support joint visits with partner agencies to engage with individuals who may be vulnerable to exploitation.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with professionals, stakeholders and community partners.
- Deliver awareness-raising sessions to improve understanding of modern slavery and exploitation.
- Learn and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including those relating to safeguarding, housing, immigration and welfare benefits.
- Manage competing priorities and work effectively in a service where deadlines can directly impact client safety and security.
- Develop practical solutions for individuals with complex needs, working independently and collaboratively.
Applicant Requirements
- Knowledge or experience of safeguarding and its practical application.
- Experience supporting, advocating for or working with vulnerable people is highly desirable.
- A strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with complex circumstances.
- Ability to work independently while also developing effective partnerships with other professionals and agencies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to assess information, identify risks and contribute to practical solutions.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond to challenges not always covered by existing policies and procedures.
- Commitment to delivering a high-quality, person-centred service.
- No formal qualifications are required; however, relevant safeguarding knowledge or experience is strongly preferred.
