We are seeking a qualified Electrician to carry out remedial and corrective works across domestic and commercial solar PV installations throughout the Midlands.
This role focuses on fault diagnosis, compliance correction, system upgrades, and ensuring installations meet current regulatory and performance standards. You will be field-based, working independently across multiple sites, reporting directly to the Head of Technical.

Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and rectify faults on existing solar PV systems (AC & DC)
- Carry out remedial works to ensure compliance with BS7671 and industry standards
- Replace and upgrade inverters, isolators, protection devices, and associated cabling
- Correct earthing, bonding, and installation deficiencies
- Upgrade consumer units where required
- Conduct inspection, testing, and certification of completed works
- Provide clear job reports, documentation, and photographic evidence
- Liaise professionally with homeowners, commercial clients, and internal teams
- Ensure high standards of workmanship, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Manage workload efficiently across multiple sites
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience in inspection and testing
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Desirable
- Previous solar PV experience
- 2391 Inspection & Testing
- Experience with inverter manufacturers (e.g., SolarEdge, Solis)
- Experience with battery storage systems
- ECS / JIB Gold Card
