Location: New Covent Garden Market
Do you have a sharp eye and a passion for getting things right first time?
Rushtons is a well-established fresh produce distributor, and we're looking for a Goods In Manager to lead our intake operation. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of our warehouse — you'll be the first person our produce meets when it arrives on site, and the standard you set matters.
If you know your way around a goods in operation, understand the importance of temperature compliance and quality checks in fresh produce, and can lead a team with confidence, we'd love to hear from you.
What the role involves
- Leading all goods in activity — receiving, checking, and booking in fresh produce deliveries
- Checking incoming stock against purchase orders for quantity, quality, temperature, and condition
- Managing rejections and supplier returns, and keeping records accurate and up to date
- Coordinating inbound delivery schedules to keep things running smoothly
- Managing safe unloading operations using MHE
- Leading and organising your goods in team across shifts
- Keeping the goods in area clean, safe, and audit-ready at all times
What we're looking for
- Solid goods in or intake experience, ideally in fresh produce, food distribution, or a similar chilled/ambient environment
- Experience supervising or leading a small team
- A good understanding of food safety and cold chain requirements
- Strong attention to detail — you notice what others miss
- A practical, get-things-done attitude
- Good communication skills for dealing with hauliers, suppliers, and colleagues

Pay: Up to £50,000.00 per year
Experience:
- Goods In: 2 years (required)
- Management: 2 years (preferred)
- Fresh produce : 2 years (required)
Licence/Certification:
- Forklift Licence (required)
