About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, and hands-on Chef de Partie to join our growing kitchen team at Pastures Lodge & Hotel. This role is for 40 hours per week.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced hospitality operation featuring two busy food outlets, extensive banqueting facilities, and a thriving events business. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering exceptional food quality and consistency across all areas of the business while supporting the senior kitchen team.
Our venue regularly caters for large covers, alongside weddings, celebrations, conferences, coach tours, and corporate functions. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for a chef who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a busy kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Take responsibility for your designated section during service.
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
- Assist in delivering high-quality food across both restaurant and banqueting operations.
- Ensure smooth service during weddings, functions, conferences, and large-scale events.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen compliance.
- Assist with stock rotation, stock control, and minimising food waste.
- Ensure your section is clean, organised, and fully prepared for service.
- Support the training and development of Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters where required.
- Work closely with the wider kitchen team to deliver an excellent guest experience.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie
- Experience working in a busy, high-volume kitchen environment.
- Experience in banqueting, weddings, or event catering would be an advantage.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy service periods.
- Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and allergen management.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Passion for producing high-quality food and delivering excellent guest experiences.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak event periods.
