Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations particularly a proven background in high volume using fresh ingredients. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. You will work closely with the kitchen and restaurant staff to maintain a smooth workflow and contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen.
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and seasoning.
- Supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure that all food production is completed in a timely manner to meet service demands.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain an organised and efficient kitchen environment.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock rotation to minimise waste.
- Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation within a professional kitchen environment is required.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in culinary operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate team members effectively.
- A background in cooking for high volume using fresh ingredients some days you are catering for 500+.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, confidence and experience in running sections and in particular a busy pass section is vital.
Details
- Hourly rate range is £13.50 to £14 per hour based on experience per hour, plus tips which averages £2.50 per hour(please note tips are paid in cash weekly but subject to HMRC regulations)
- Meals, Soft Drinks and Tea/ Coffee whilst on shift.
- Hours vary from 40 -45 on average normally working 4 days over 7.
- We are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 1st & 2nd of January
