Experienced Solar PV & Solar Thermal Engineer Required
Energi Vue Ltd is looking for an experienced Solar PV and Solar Thermal Engineer to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone with strong practical experience in the service, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of solar PV and solar thermal systems. The role will involve working on domestic and commercial sites, carrying out planned maintenance, reactive repairs, inspections, testing, reporting and general renewable energy works.
The ideal candidate will be confident working on roofs, in plant rooms and around electrical, plumbing and heating systems. You will need to be able to diagnose faults clearly, work safely and complete jobs to a professional standard.
Experience with inverters, solar thermal pump stations, controllers, sensors, expansion vessels, glycol systems, cylinders, meters, wiring, isolation and general system performance issues would be highly beneficial.
The role will include:
Carrying out service and maintenance works on solar PV and solar thermal systems
Fault finding and repairs
Replacing faulty components where required
Working on solar thermal pump stations, controllers, sensors and associated pipework
Working around hot water cylinders and pressurised systems where qualified to do so
Completing job sheets, photographs and reports
Working safely on roofs, in loft spaces and in plant rooms
Liaising professionally with clients, tenants and office staff
Supporting other renewable energy and energy monitoring projects where required
Minimum requirements:
Previous experience with solar PV and/or solar thermal systems
Good fault-finding ability
Full UK driving licence
Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical/mechanical safety
Confident working at height and on roofs
Good communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A professional, reliable and tidy approach to work
Qualifications / experience preferred:
Solar thermal experience essential
Solar PV experience highly desirable
G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification strongly preferred
G3 qualification essential if working independently on unvented cylinders or cylinder safety controls
Plumbing/heating experience desirable
18th Edition Wiring Regulations preferred for PV work
Level 3 electrical qualification, ECS Gold Card or equivalent electrical competence preferred
Solar PV Level 3 qualification desirable

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
