About Us
Westbourne Conservative Club is a successful and friendly members' club at the heart of the local community. We pride ourselves on providing excellent food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere for our members and guests. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef to join our team and help develop our food offering.
The Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Chef to take responsibility for the preparation and service of high-quality meals for our members, guests, functions, and special events. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a community-focused environment and takes pride in delivering consistently good food with the support of a kitchen porter.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of fresh meals to a high standard.
- Develop and contribute to seasonal menus, daily specials, and event catering menus.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Minimise waste and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist with catering for club functions, parties, and special events.
- Work closely with management to enhance the club's food offering and member experience.
- Train and develop a Kitchen Porter to be an effective substitute to provide cover.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or in a similar catering role.
- A passion for producing quality food and excellent customer experiences.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety standards, and allergen requirements.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- A flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends when required.
- Relevant food hygiene qualifications is essential.
