Employment Senior Associate | Manchester | £60,000–£75,000 | 5+ PQE | Hybrid
I’m currently recruiting for a highly regarded, award-winning law firm that is looking to appoint an experienced Employment Solicitor / Senior Associate to join its collaborative Employment & HR team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer looking for high-quality respondent work, strong client exposure and genuine opportunities to develop their career and profile within a supportive team.
The Role
You’ll manage an interesting and varied caseload, predominantly acting for employers and respondent clients, including:
- Day-to-day employment and HR advice
- Employment Tribunal matters through to conclusion
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, handbooks and senior employee documentation
- Advising business owners, senior managers and HR teams
- Corporate support work
- Advocacy and attendance at Employment Tribunals
- Working with Counsel and other experts
- Developing client relationships and identifying new opportunities
- Supporting and supervising junior fee earners
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years PQE in Employment Law
- Strong experience acting for respondent / commercial clients
- Experience handling Employment Tribunal matters
- Excellent knowledge of day-to-day employment and HR issues
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Experience advising senior stakeholders, HR teams and business owners
- The ability to manage your own caseload independently
- Strong client care and commercial awareness
- Experience supervising junior lawyers would be advantageous
- An interest in business development and networking
