We’re looking for a Senior Auditor to join our internal Audit team to help make sure we’ve got effective risk management in place. Where there are risks, you’ll give assurance that they’re being managed well. Where there are weaknesses, you’ll support colleagues to put in the right controls to make things better.
As a Senior Auditor, you’ll work with all our businesses and functions including Food, Funeralcare, Legal Services and more. You’ll be joining a high-performing and continually developing team whilst building relationships with colleagues at all levels across the wider business. What you’ll do
- Own and manage a portfolio of audits across all areas of the Co-op
- Develop a deep understanding of what colleagues do, the processes they operate and the culture they work in, identifying any potential gaps or areas of risk
- Challenge and influence partners across the business, making sure colleagues put the right actions in place to fix any issues
- Create insightful reports, making sure they’re clear and concise so that senior leaders can focus on what matters most
- Drive the delivery of work to a high standard and within planned timescales, managing and coaching colleagues where necessary
- Get involved in other ad-hoc assurance work, and continually look for ways of improving audit processes
- Leverage developments in audit technology, data analytics and automation to continuously improve our methodology

- Audit experience in a similar role, and an internal audit or finance qualification
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- A drive to own audits from end to end
- The ability to interpret complex data
- Experience of using data analytics to enhance audit testing
