Are you a practical, hands-on leader who enjoys working outdoors and thrives on getting the job done? At Boxford Farms, we're looking for a Tunnel Team Supervisor to take the lead in maintaining the vital infrastructure that protects our soft fruit crops.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a successful and growing fresh produce business, leading a dedicated team responsible for building, maintaining and repairing our polytunnels. Your work will directly contribute to producing high-quality fruit and ensuring our crops are protected and ready for a successful harvest.
What You'll Be Doing
As Tunnel Team Supervisor, you'll lead by example, organising daily tasks and ensuring our tunnel infrastructure is maintained to the highest standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and motivating the Tunnel Team on day-to-day operations.
- Planning and coordinating tunnel construction, maintenance and repairs.
- Ensuring tunnels are fully prepared ahead of the growing and harvest seasons.
- Installing, changing and maintaining tunnel covers in response to changing weather conditions.
- Monitoring weather forecasts and taking proactive action to minimise damage.
- Maintaining tunnel structures to help deliver the highest quality fruit.
- Championing health and safety across the team, ensuring PPE and company procedures are always followed.
- Reporting maintenance, operational and health & safety issues promptly.
- Working closely with the Labour & Harvest Manager to achieve daily and seasonal goals.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- An experienced team leader or supervisor with the ability to motivate others.
- Practical, proactive and happy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Well organised with strong communication skills.
- Confident leading by example and solving problems on the go.
- Committed to maintaining high health and safety standards.
- Reliable, flexible and willing to support the business during busy seasonal periods.
- A full UK driving licence holder (preferred).
