Job Summary
Radmat Building Materials is looking for a hardworking and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our busy warehouse and logistics team in Gloucester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety and customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched efficiently whilst supporting the overall warehouse operation.
Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving stock throughout the warehouse
- Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and competently (training provided)
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems to ensure accurate inventory records
- Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch in accordance with company standards
- Assisting with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all goods are correctly documented and stored
- Stocking shelves and organising storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain product integrity during handling and storage
- Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance or troubleshooting as needed
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are adhered to at all times during daily operations
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safe lifting practices, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification is advantageous but not mandatory)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software applications
- Experience with shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation and compliance requirements
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking, packing, and stock organisation
- Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of equipment maintenance is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: From £28,300.00 per year
