Wards Gardens is looking for an Experienced / Skilled Landscaper to join our team, helping us deliver high-end gardens across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas.
We're not simply looking for another pair of hands.
We're looking for someone with good landscaping experience, the right attitude and high standards who wants to become an important part of the team as the company continues to grow.
You don't need to know everything. If you've got a strong foundation of landscaping experience, take pride in doing things properly and have the attitude to keep learning, we'd still like to hear from you.
Salary: £30,000–£34,000 per year, depending on experience and ability.
For the right person, there are genuine opportunities to develop their skills, take on greater responsibility and progress within Wards Gardens as the company grows.
A bit about you
You'll have practical experience within landscape construction and be confident carrying out a good range of hard landscaping work.
You'll have a keen eye for detail and understand that the finish matters just as much as getting the job done.
You'll be someone who can work as part of a team but doesn't need to be constantly told what to do. You'll ask questions when you're unsure, think ahead, take responsibility for your work and be willing to learn from the experienced people around you.
Most importantly, you'll have a positive attitude, strong work ethic and pride in what you produce.
We're looking for someone who wants more than just another landscaping job.
Key skills & experience
Ideally, you'll have experience in several of the following:
- Laying porcelain, natural stone paving, setts and stone
- Setting out patios, paths and levels
- Ground preparation and sub-bases
- Blockwork and brickwork
- Steps and retaining features
- Decking and fencing
- Drainage
- Turfing, seeding and planting
- Reading landscape drawings and setting out from plans
- Working independently and as part of a small team
- Planning ahead and identifying what will be needed next
- Working safely and following H&S procedures
You don't need to be an expert in every area. We're interested in what you can already do, the standard you work to and how willing you are to develop further.

Location
Our teams start from our yard near Ledbury, Herefordshire, each morning and travel to sites from there.
Please check the daily journey to Ledbury before applying and make sure you're comfortable with the commute on a long-term basis.
A full UK driving licence is required due to the nature of the role and travel between sites.
