Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Support Worker to join our team in Tewkesbury for weekend hours. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by providing essential support they may currently struggle with. Your contributions will be vital in helping us achieve our mission of empowering individuals and enabling them to be as independent as possible.
The right candidate will have a positive, empathetic, caring approach with a patient and friendly manner. They should be able to use their initiative and demonstrate a good work ethic while showing respect to our clients, their families and their homes at all times. As this involves travelling between client homes in the Gloucestershire area, a full driving licence, access to a vehicle and confidence in driving is essential.
Responsibilities include
- Follow Support plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Provide compassionate support to clients in daily living activities.
- Monitor and document client health and behavior when required.
- Source and promote attending possible social activities to enhance client wellbeing.
- Accompany clients on outings.
- Assist to maintain a clean and safe living environment within the client's homes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals when needed to ensure comprehensive and holistic support.
Experience
- Proven experience in support/cleaning or similar roles.
- Strong understanding of assisting with activities of daily living.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a bonus but not essential.
