Developing and running the food offering at our Bath shop.
Chandos Deli is an independent deli and café group with seven outlets across the South West. Bath already has a food offering we're proud of. We want someone to take it further.
The counter is busy and the food coming off it is good. This is a chance to take something that already works and make more of it: more made by us, savoury and sweet, changing through the year and worth crossing the road for.
And you'd have the pick of some wonderful suppliers. Bath is more café than deli, so it's less about what sits on the shelves and more about what we can bring in — and across the business we've spent years building relationships with some of the best producers in the country: farmhouse cheeses, charcuterie, oils and vinegars, bread, and a great deal besides. If there's something you want to cook with, the chances are we can get it. Used with thought and costed properly, that's what will set the counter apart.
It's a varied job rather than a straight kitchen one. You'll spend part of the day cooking and prepping, and the rest out front with the team — and that's the best part of it. You'll hand your food to the person who's about to eat it, talk a regular into trying the thing they'd never normally order, and hear straight away what landed and what didn't. Very few kitchen jobs give you that.
You'll learn a lot here too. We taste regularly, our suppliers are among the best in the country, and there's a wine list alongside the food to match. If you're curious about proper food and wine, there are few better places to get an education in it.
If you only want to be behind a pass, this isn't for you. If you like the idea of feeding people and talking to them about what they're eating, read on.
