We’re now looking for a commercially focused Category Manager to join our team and help shape the future of our product offering.
As Category Manager, you’ll take ownership of your categories, developing and delivering a strategy that meets customer needs whilst helping to maximise sales, margin and profitability.
You’ll play a key role in shaping our product range, working closely with suppliers to ensure our offer remains competitive, relevant and aligned to both our in-branch and digital channels.
This is a varied and fast-paced role where you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery to drive real business impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
Driving category performance
- Creating and delivering category plans to meet sales and margin targets
- Reviewing product ranges and promotions to ensure they meet customer needs
- Monitoring performance using data and insight to continuously improve results
Managing suppliers and products
- Building strong relationships with existing and new suppliers
- Negotiating trading agreements and securing the best commercial deals
- Managing new product launches and phasing out discontinued lines
- Ensuring product availability and supporting accurate forecasting
Staying ahead of the market
- Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor activity
- Working with internal teams to ensure pricing remains competitive
- Supporting both branch and online product offers to deliver a great customer experience
Supporting the wider business
- Providing insights, KPI reporting and analysis to support decision-making
- Contributing to sales initiatives and wider business goals
- Ensuring accurate product data across systems and platforms
We’re looking for someone who combines strong commercial awareness with great relationship-building skills.
Ideally, you’ll demonstrate the following:
- Experience in a Category Manager, Buyer or similar commercial role
- A results-driven and commercially astute mindset
- Confidence negotiating and influencing at all levels
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently
