The Role
You will manage a varied litigation caseload, providing clear, practical and strategic advice to clients throughout the dispute resolution process.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own litigation caseload from initial instruction through to resolution
- Advising clients on a broad range of civil and commercial disputes
- Handling contractual and business disputes
- Dealing with property and landlord & tenant disputes where appropriate
- Conducting litigation and dispute resolution matters
- Drafting pleadings, correspondence, statements and other legal documentation
- Reviewing evidence and preparing matters for hearings
- Advising clients on litigation strategy, risks and potential outcomes
- Negotiating settlements and exploring alternative dispute resolution
- Liaising with barristers, experts and other professional advisers
- Representing clients where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate and compliant case files
- Managing deadlines and ensuring matters progress efficiently
- Providing regular updates and clear, practical advice to clients
- Recording time and managing files in accordance with internal procedures
- Contributing to business development and the continued growth of the team
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a confident and commercially minded Litigation Lawyer / Chartered Legal Executive / Litigation Executive who is comfortable managing their own caseload.
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years' PQE
- Experience working within Civil and/or Commercial Litigation
- Qualified as a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or equivalent litigation professional
- Proven ability to manage your own litigation caseload
- Strong knowledge of dispute resolution procedures
- Excellent drafting and analytical skills
- Strong negotiation abilities
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Ability to provide clear and practical legal advice
- Strong attention to detail and organisation
- Ability to manage competing deadlines effectively
You'll also bring:
- A commercially aware and solutions-focused approach
- Confidence dealing directly with clients
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team
- Strong relationship-building skills
- An interest in business development and developing client relationships
- Commitment to maintaining high professional and compliance standards
