Chap’s IT Recycling is a growing IT Asset Recovery company helping organisations across the UK securely dispose of, refurbish and recycle redundant IT equipment.
We provide secure collections, certified data destruction and IT refurbishment services, ensuring our customers receive a professional, secure and environmentally responsible service.
We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking and trustworthy individual to join our operations team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll spend time travelling to customer sites collecting IT equipment, while also supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our workshop and warehouse.

The Role
Your primary responsibility will be carrying out secure collections of IT equipment from businesses across the UK.
You’ll often be working independently, driving company vehicles, representing Chap’s on customer sites and safely transporting valuable IT equipment back to our facility.
When you’re not out on collections, you’ll support our workshop and warehouse team by helping keep our operation organised and efficient. This allows our technicians to focus on refurbishing and processing IT equipment.
This is a physical role and will involve lifting, loading and unloading IT equipment on a daily basis.
No two days are the same, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and isn’t afraid of rolling their sleeves up.
Key Responsibilities
Secure IT Collections
- Carry out secure IT equipment collections throughout the UK.
- Drive company vans safely and professionally.
- Load and unload IT equipment safely.
- Represent the business professionally on customer premises.
- Complete collection paperwork and maintain accurate asset traceability.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain company vehicles to a high standard.
- Follow company security procedures when transporting customer equipment.
Workshop & Warehouse Operations
- Receive and organise incoming IT equipment.
- Sort equipment into refurbishment and recycling streams.
- Clean and prepare equipment for processing.
- Pack refurbished IT equipment ready for dispatch.
- Dismantle and separate equipment for recycling.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe workshop.
- Assist with warehouse organisation and stock movements.
- Support technicians by preparing equipment and work areas.
- General workshop and warehouse duties.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Full UK driving licence.
- Previous van driving experience.
- Confident driving medium or long-wheelbase vans throughout the UK.
- Eligible to drive company vehicles under our motor insurance policy -
- MUST BE 25 or over & under 6 Points
- Excellent reliability and timekeeping.
- Comfortable working independently.
- Physically fit and capable of safely lifting and moving IT equipment.
- Friendly, professional and customer-focused.
- Organised with good attention to detail.
- Comfortable using smartphones for navigation and job management.
- Honest, trustworthy and able to follow procedures.
- Must Pass an enhanced DBS Check
Desirable
- Warehouse, logistics or operational experience.
- Experience loading and securing goods for transport.
- Customer-facing experience.
Hours
- 22.5 hours per week (3 x 7.5 hour days).
- Working days are flexible Monday to Friday and will be scheduled around customer collection & business requirements
- No weekends.
- Additional hours and overtime may be available during busy periods.
