Summary
We are seeking dedicated Band 6 and 7 Clinical Imaging Specialist - Breast Imaging to join our team at NHS Professionals in the UK. This vital role involves performing high-quality mammography imaging to support early detection and diagnosis of breast health issues. Based in Sheffield, you will contribute to our mission of providing excellent healthcare services and supporting patient well-being.
Responsibilities
- To work alongside Lead Consultant Radiologists for Breast Imaging as an expert practitioner within symptomatic and assessment clinics, demonstrating excellent technical skills in all aspects of Breast Imaging. This involves the utilisation of highly developed specialist knowledge, critical thinking and expert decision making.
- To be competent in the use of specialist skills for interventions performed under ultrasound and mammographic control, including fourteen gauge biopsies, seven and ten gauge vacuum assisted biopsies, localisation wire and marker clip insertions.
- To work as an autonomous practitioner, with responsibility for covering booked patient lists; and to lead fast track clinics in the absence of a Consultant Radiologist, with effective liaison with surgical colleagues to provide an efficient service.
- To provide a high quality, timely and efficient NHS Breast Screening Programme, along with a symptomatic and specialised assessment mammographic service.
- Ability to perform mammograms, ultrasound and stereotactic biopsy and/or film reading.
Qualifications
- BSc (Hons) Radiography or DCR
- HPC Registered
- Post Graduate certificate in Mammography
- Proven experience in performing mammography imaging.
- Strong understanding of breast anatomy and pathology.
- Mammography experience in the Breast Screening Service or a Symptomatic Breast Service.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient care and safety.
