Overview
We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced full-time Imam (Minister of Religion) to serve our Muslim community. This vital role involves nurturing faith, providing spiritual guidance, and fostering a welcoming environment for individuals of all ages and backgrounds. The Minister of Religion will inspire hope, promote moral growth, and support community well-being through compassionate leadership and active engagement.
Duties
- Lead the five daily congregational prayers
- Deliver Friday Khutbah and and lead Jumu'ah prayers
- Teach Qur'an and Islamic Studies to children and adults
- Provide support for hospice care patients and their families by offering comfort, spiritual guidance, and emotional reassurance
- Provide religious guidance and counselling
- Conduct funeral prayers
- Participate in community outreach, educational programmes and interfaith engagement
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Islamic Studies
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience in leading a Mosque and serving Muslim community
- Sound knowledge of the Qur'an and Sunnah
- Good command of English and Arabic
- Experience working with children or youth in educational or religious contexts.
- Strong mentoring abilities to guide individuals through personal or spiritual growth journeys
- Ability to provide effective religious leadership
Pay: From £23,500.00 per year
