Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to prepare authentic and contemporary Indian cuisine while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and consistency. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of regional Indian cooking techniques, spices, and recipes, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, biryanis, breads, starters, and desserts.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
- Maintain consistency in taste, portion sizes, and food quality.
- Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, and spice mixes according to recipes.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management.
- Minimise food waste and control food costs.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen in accordance with food hygiene and HACCP regulations.
- Ensure compliance with allergen, health, and safety standards.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of new seasonal dishes.
- Train and support junior chefs and kitchen staff.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and front-of-house team to ensure excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef in a restaurant, pub, hotel, or catering environment.
- Strong knowledge of North and South Indian cuisine, spices, and traditional cooking techniques.
- Experience with tandoor cooking is desirable.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
- Good organisational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
