The Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainer & Development Officer to join our growing team.
This is a varied role combining practical driver academy training with classroom-based learning and development. You will play a key role in supporting new and existing drivers, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, customer service, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and practical training to new and existing drivers.
- Support the Skills Driver Academy and PCV licence acquisition programme.
- Deliver Driver CPC, customer service, compliance, safeguarding, and health & safety training.
- Conduct driver assessments, coaching sessions, and refresher training.
- Assist with driver inductions, recruitment assessments, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate training records and compliance documentation.
- Support incident investigations through remedial coaching and training.
- Develop and update training materials in line with industry best practice.
- Monitor training effectiveness and identify development opportunities.
About You
Essential
- PCV Category D Licence.
- Driver CPC Qualification.
- Experience delivering training to groups and individuals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Good organisational and IT skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for developing people and improving standards.
Desirable
- Training qualification (AET, PTLLS, or equivalent).
- Experience within the bus, coach, transport, or logistics sector.
- Knowledge of driver hours, tachographs, and DVSA compliance requirements.
