Join Our Engineering Team
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a variety of mechanical process engineering projects from concept through to completion across the food, beverage, brewery, distillery, dairy, pharmaceutical and manufacturing sectors.
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering projects safely, on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and our in-house design, fabrication and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple engineering projects from initial enquiry through to commissioning and handover.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare project programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Produce technical specifications, equipment schedules and procurement documentation.
- Obtain quotations, negotiate with suppliers and place purchase orders.
- Manage project budgets, monitor costs and report on financial performance.
- Coordinate workshop fabrication, site installation and subcontractor activities.
- Attend client meetings, design reviews, factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
- Ensure projects comply with customer specifications, industry standards and health & safety legislation.
- Identify and manage project risks and implement solutions where required.
- Produce project documentation, operation manuals and final handover packs.
- Support commissioning activities and resolve technical issues on site.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience managing engineering or mechanical installation projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs and technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience within the food, beverage, brewery, dairy, distillery or pharmaceutical industries.
- Knowledge of hygienic process pipework and stainless steel fabrication.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of pressure equipment, valves, pumps and process systems.
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience commissioning process equipment.
Pay: £26,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
