We are seeking a skilled Bricklayer and a reliable hod carrier to join our construction team. The successful candidates will be responsible for assisting in masonry projects, laying bricks, and supporting the overall building process. Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units with precision and adherence to specifications
- Mix mortar and prepare materials required for bricklaying tasks
- Assist the bricklayer by passing tools and materials, ensuring smooth workflow as a hod carrier
- Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, and chisels effectively
- Use power tools safely for cutting and shaping bricks or blocks when necessary
- Support in the installation of roofing or carpentry elements if required
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Assist with lifting and transporting materials around the site efficiently
Requirements
- Prior experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related construction trades is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for eager learners
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in masonry work
- Knowledge of basic carpentry, roofing, or welding skills is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials safely
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure high standards of craftsmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment
- Physical fitness to perform manual labour throughout the working day
