We are now looking for passionate Garden Maintenance Operatives, with opportunities for progression into Team Leader roles for the right candidates.
The Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a genuine interest in gardening, and takes pride in delivering high standards. You will work as part of a small team (usually two people), carrying out a wide range of horticultural tasks across the seasons. For those with leadership potential, we offer a clear pathway into a Team Leader position.
Responsibilities
- Cutting and maintaining lawns to a variety of finishes using different machines
- Trimming and maintaining hedges
- Caring for shrub and herbaceous borders, including weeding, planting, and pruning
- Leaf-clearing and litter-picking
- Assisting with planting schemes
- Pressure washing
- Lawn care treatments
- Feeding, mulching, and soil improvement
- Following annual maintenance plans
- Working hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (hours vary with daylight; average up to 40 hours per week)
Requirements Essential
- Alignment with the company’s values and commitment to quality
- Clean/full UK driving licence
- Experience working as part of a team
- Previous gardening experience
- Awareness of health & safety practices
- Friendly, professional manner with clients
- Competence using a wide range of horticultural machinery and powered tools
- Creativity, attention to detail, and pride in your work
- Willingness to learn and develop horticultural skills
- Physically active and comfortable working in all weather conditions
Desirable
- PA1/PA6 spray licence
- Plant identification knowledge
- Previous lawn care experience
- Professional gardening experience
- Horticultural qualifications
- Tree surgery skills
- Previous van driving experience
