We are looking for a practical, reliable and hard-working Installation Assistant / Engineer’s Mate to join our team.
You will work as part of our experienced engineering team, travelling with our engineers to customer sites throughout the UK & Ireland and assisting with the delivery, movement and installation of commercial equipment.
When not out with the engineering team, you will assist with general warehouse duties at our Head Office, including preparing equipment, cleaning, organising stock and picking and packing orders.
This is an entry-level, hands-on role and previous engineering experience is not required. Full training will be provided. We're looking for someone dependable, physically fit, willing to learn and happy to get stuck in.
Main Duties
Engineer & Installation Support
- Travel with our engineering team to customer sites throughout the UK & Ireland.
- Assist engineers with the delivery, movement and positioning of commercial equipment.
- Provide hands-on assistance during installations, removals and relocations.
- Carry out basic assembly and set-up tasks under the direction of our engineers.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment, tools and parts.
- Follow manual handling and site safety procedures.
- Represent the company professionally when working at customer premises.
Warehouse Support
- Assist with cleaning and preparing equipment.
- Receive, move, sort and organise equipment and stock.
- Pick, pack and prepare products, parts and equipment for delivery.
- Help prepare equipment and tools for upcoming installations.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles.
- Keep the warehouse, work areas and company vehicles clean, tidy and safe.
- Assist with other general warehouse duties as required.
What We're Looking For
- Physically fit and comfortable with regular lifting and manual handling.
- Practical, hands-on and willing to get stuck in.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Comfortable driving when required as part of the role.
- Willing to travel throughout the UK & Ireland with our engineering team.
- Flexible regarding working hours, including early starts and overnight stays.
- Able to follow instructions and work safely.
- Previous experience in a practical, warehouse, installation, removals, delivery or similar role would be useful, but is not essential.
