Due to continued growth, my client is looking to recruit an experienced Solar Install Coordinator / Designer to join their growing team in Tredegar.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved in every stage of a solar installation. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing domestic solar PV systems, coordinating installations from the office and ensuring every project runs smoothly from initial survey through to completion.
The Role
This is a varied office-based role where you'll take ownership of each installation, ensuring projects are planned, scheduled and delivered efficiently while maintaining the highest compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing domestic and commercial Solar PV systems using OpenSolar and/or PV*SOL from survey information.
- Producing accurate solar system designs and proposals.
- Booking installation jobs and coordinating engineers and subcontractors.
- Planning installation schedules from start to finish.
- Ordering all required materials and ensuring they arrive on site ahead of installation.
- Arranging scaffolding and coordinating with external suppliers.
- Liaising with customers, installers and internal teams throughout the installation process.
- Monitoring project progress and resolving scheduling issues where required.
- Managing all installation administration and project documentation.
- Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and is fully compliant.
- Preparing documentation for MCS handovers and maintaining compliance records.
- Supporting the wider operations team to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
What We're Looking For
✔ Previous experience within the Solar PV or wider renewable energy industry.
✔ Experience using OpenSolar, PV*SOL, or similar solar design software.
✔ Strong understanding of domestic Solar PV installations.
✔ Experience coordinating installers and subcontractors.
✔ Confident ordering materials and managing supplier relationships.
✔ Experience arranging scaffolding and coordinating external contractors.
✔ Strong organisational and communication skills.
✔ High attention to detail and experience managing compliance paperwork.
✔ Understanding of MCS documentation and renewable energy compliance would be highly advantageous.
✔ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
