1:1 SEN Tutor - Key Stage 2,3 & 4 | Spennymoor
At Prospero Teaching, we work in partnership with SEND Services, Local Authorities, and education providers to support students with additional needs or those who are currently unable to access mainstream education through bespoke 1:1 tutoring.
In the Spennymoor area, we are seeking specialist Tutors to support students from KS2 to KS4 with a range of Special Educational Needs, particularly in English and Maths.
About the role
As an SEN Tutor, you will support students with ASD, ADHD, and a variety of SEN and SEMH needs. Your role will focus on re-engaging learners with their education, building their confidence, and helping them achieve clear and measurable progress. Tuition sessions may be delivered either face-to-face or online and can take place in the student's home or within a local community setting
Position Details

Pay: up to £30 per hour (DOE)
- Hours: up to 15 per week per student
- Start date: September 2026
- Access to CPD training and learning resources
Your Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging 1:1 lessons tailored to individual needs
- Support students' academic and emotional development
- Track progress and provide feedback to parents and professionals
- Complete basic attendance and progress reports
Requirements

Experience teaching or tutoring SEN learners (KS2 or KS4)

Right to work in the UK

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
