Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time Café Supervisor to join our friendly team at our new Pavilion Café. You'll help deliver an excellent customer experience while creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone in our community.
The core hours are Tuesdays and Sundays (10:30am - 6:00pm) but hours may be negotiated for the right candidate. There is potential for these hours to increase over time if needed. The hourly rate will be £13.50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the café team in the café manager's absence.
- Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer queries.
- Support staff training including volunteers and ensure high performance.
- Open and close the café when required.
- Maintain food hygiene, health and safety, and cleanliness standards.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering.
- Handle cash, tills, and daily reconciliations.
- Work closely with the Café Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a café, coffee shop, or hospitality environment.
- Experience supervising or leading a team is preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable but not essential).
- Experience working with young people including those with additional needs (desirable but not essential).
